- Kool-Flow Bamboo Breathable cover: Their proprietary Kool-Flow cover is made of an eco-friendly viscose bamboo, polyester and lycra. Along with being eco-friendly, bamboo is also inherently dust mite resistant and wicks away moisture. The micro-vent stitching throughout the material adds to the breathability and allow the air to flow from the layers underneath. The cover has a very soft, stretchy feel and can be unzipped and removed easily for washing.
- 3” Snuggle-Flex memory foam: This has a more buoyant feel than typical memory foam however it still has a slower response when you lay down. This layer has aerated holes to allow the air to flow and keep you cool throughout the night.
- Base Foam: 7″ firm support layer that has channels in it that allows air to flow and fully circulate when communicating with the aerated foam above.

Breathable Memory Foam Feel
The Snuggle-Pedic has a memory foam feel with a little extra buoyancy. When you initially lay down on the mattress you will slowly sink in. This will provide great pressure relief, however, you won’t get that stuck in the mud feeling as with some other memory foams.
The Deluxe Comfort mattress has more of a medium feel overall (we rated it a 6 out of 10 for firmness), but it has a softer surface feel and plushness. (They use a 25% firmer ILD base than most other Bed-In-A-Box companies. So even though it feels more plush, you won’t sink into the base as much when you lie on the mattress). Some heavier individuals and stomach sleepers that prefer a firmer mattress may wish to consider the Snuggle-Pedic Original which offers a more medium-firm overall feel. While strict side sleepers and those that prefer a more medium-soft feel may wish to consider the Supreme Plush,Snuggle-Pedic’s luxury model. Whichever you choose, Snuggle-Pedic is sure to accommodate a large range of sleep positions and preferences.
We feel one of the best things about Snuggle-Pedic as a brand is the customization. If you are not completely satisfied with the feel of the foam they will send you a replacement that will better suit your needs at no additional cost to you. The patented airflow transfer system works very well and provides great temperature balancing benefits all night long. I read in some reviews that it slept hot and wanted to point out that because of the aeration its best to have a mattress protector and sheets that are breathable as well. If you don’t, the airflow transfer system might not work as efficiently.

So, now that you have a nice new mattress you will want to protect it, right? We have found that some mattress protectors will make you hot at night even though the mattress underneath has cooling benefits. The reason for this is the lack of breathability in the protector. Of course you want it to protect but at what point do you sacrifice your nights sleep for that protection?
Well you don’t have to with the Snuggle-Pedic mattress protector. Its completely breathable and water resistant. That being said, if your kids, that might be still potty training, tend to sneak in your bed at night you might want to have a mattress protector with a stronger barrier, that while not breathable due to use of a plastic like liner, will offer you an impervious protection that is fully water proof.
Construction of the Breathable Snuggle-Pedic Mattress Protector:
- Top layer is treated with Greenshield, which is an ecofriendly solution. This will repel water and oils allowing it to bead up when it comes in contact. The solution is considered green and releases no VOCs, as well as, has no PFOS or PFOA, which can be considered toxic.

Can you describe the difference between the Original, Deluxe, and Supreme Plush Snuggle Pedic beds? I can’t seem to find the information on their site.
Also, my wife and I are in the market for an adjustable split king. She is very interested in the Air Pedic 850. However, I like the Tempurpedic Contour Elite which I have been using for about 10 years, which needs to be replaced. I’m nervous about switching to an air bed, but also recognize that if we get two different twin XL mattresses from different companies they will likely be different depths (Air Pedic 850 is 13.5 inches vs 10 inches for a Snuggle Pedic). Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!

How does the Snuggle-Pedic mattress work for heavy people? Say, up to 300 pounds? Do any of the models work for that?

In general when it comes to heavier individuals, innerspring mattresses or hybrids tend to hold up the best. Memory foam can wear down over time and cause dipping and sagging. Snuggle-Pedic does use a base layer of support foam with a higher ILD than its competitors which will hold up better than others but, unless you are totally set on memory foam I would still suggest a hybrid at that weight. I have purchased two ( 2 ) Snuggle-Pedic pillows about a month ago. I have not been able to sleep on them due to the smell. I get a very strong chemical smell from the pillows which give me a headache. I have no idea what chemicals are being used in the filling but I can’t even fall asleep due to the smell.
I think it’s a real shame because I think it’s the comfortable pillow I ever had.

Off-gassing is pretty common when it comes to memory foam products and we definitely noticed an odor when we reviewed the Snuggle-Pedic pillows, though in our experience it was quite mild. (We’ve reviewed some pillows which have been really bad). Have you tried popping the pillows into the dryer? This has been recommended with several of the pillows to help the odor to dissipate.
We are looking for a memory foam mattress that’s a bit firmer but not too hard since Mattress has a rating of six on the firmness scale do you think that would somebody who’s coming from a quail mattress brand new to memory foam that this will feel to soft? Or would you suggest to get a firmer mattress ??
