Saatva: A luxury eco-friendly mattress at an affordable price?
If you’ve been searching for a luxury non-toxic mattress at an affordable price – Saatva might just be the bed for you. Handcrafted in the US, Saatva, like Nest, uses eco-friendly materials. The mattress has an organic cotton outer cover, recycled steel coils and plant-based memory foam in its construction. While terms like “eco-friendly” and “organic” are often associated with a higher price tag, Saatva delivers an affordable mattress without skimping on quality. If you’re looking for a good quality mattress for a fraction of the price, Saatva is the way to go.
Non-toxic “coil on coil” construction:
Saatva’s mattress has a strong base support system with tempered steel coils that are made from recycled steel. This will provide the support needed and create a durability designed to prevent sagging, a common problem in mattresses overtime. On top of the steel coils is another layer of individually wrapped coils. The wrapped coils will contour to your body and will dampen motion transfer typically associated with coil mattresses. Encasing the coils is foam that surrounds the edge of the bed. This helps the mattress with edge support, durability and further prevents sagging. Covering the “coil on coil” is a lumbar support made of high-quality memory foam for further support and contouring. The CertiPUR-US memory foam comes from Future Foam’s Harvest line and is made without harmful, toxic materials, like lead, mercury, heavy metals and formaldehyde. Finally on the top is a luxurious Euro pillow top with an organic cotton cover. The cover has a botanical fabric treatment that is antimicrobial and inhibits bacteria.
Feel of the mattress:
There are 3 different firmness choices; plush soft, luxury firm and firm. We tested the plush soft and found it was a wonderful pillowtop mattress that relieves pressure and comfortably cradles your hips and shoulders without sacrificing spinal alignment. If you are a side sleeper or back sleep that prefers a soft mattress this will be a great affordable choice. We were impressed with the quality of the materials for the price of the mattress. You really get your money’s worth with this mattress.
Pricing, return policy and warranty:
They offer a 120 night home trial, meaning you can return the mattress within that time frame for a small transportation fee of $99. After reading some of their reviews Saatva stands behind their products. Anyone who seemed to have an issue with sagging or defects, within the 15 year warranty, they promptly exchanged the bed free of charge.
