Why Sateen Sheets?
If you’ve been shopping for the perfect set of bedsheets you might be overwhelmed by the options available to you. From textiles to thread counts, you likely have some questions about what is best suited for your needs.
Sateen refers to a weave pattern that places one yarn under and three yarn over for a luxuriously soft, satiny feel. Sateen sheets typically lie heavier on the body and provide some excellent draping, they are also known for their wrinkle-resistance! While sateen sheets can be made from a number of different materials, the sateen sheet set by Nectar uses a combination of ring-spun combed cotton and microfilament polyester.

Feel of the Nectar Sateen Sheets
The Nectar Sateen Sheets are packaged in a simple plastic cover with a zippered closure, good for reusing for storage purposes. The sheets are only available in white, so if you are looking for fun, funky colors, unfortunately, Nectar won’t be an option. However, we really love how the white sheets brighten up the room and you can still add loads of color by pairing with a colorful comforter, duvet cover, or accent pillow(s)!
Now, I’m personally a big fan of bamboo sheets and wasn’t sure how I would feel making the switch, but I have to be honest, the Nectar sateen sheets have quickly become a favorite. Made from extra-long staple cotton, the sheets are designed to get softer with every wash and that has certainly held true. The sateen weave gives the sheets a shiny appearance and a silky smooth feel. Overall, these sheets are cool to the touch, incredibly smooth and great for snuggling up in!
Does the Nectar Sateen Sheet set Sleep Cool?
While sateen is often thought to sleep warmer and be a good choice for winter nights, we felt that the Nectar sheets actually did a pretty good job of staying temperature neutral. We did read some reviews online that indicated these sheets slept hot, which was personally not the experience for Mike and I. We live in sunny Florida and, as I’ve mentioned in other reviews, I tend to really struggle with staying cool during the night (I can thank my hyperthyroidism for that!). While there are cooler sheets on the market, we think that the Nectar sheets make a great choice for year-round comfort, especially for anyone who experiences all 4 seasons.
If you are using a temperature control system, such as BedJet, the Nectar sheets are a great option. The density of these sheets helps trap the air, enhancing the effects of the climate control system.

Nectar Sheet Set Details
Each set of Nectar sheets comes with 1 fitted sheet and 1 flat sheet. The number of pillowcases that accompany the sheets depends on what size sheets you are buying. Twin and Twin XL sheets come with only 1 standard pillowcase. Full and Queen size bedsheets come with 2 standard pillowcases, while King and California King sheet sets come with 2 King-sized pillowcases.
The pillowcases come with an envelope enclosure, which I personally find a must. I move around a lot in my sleep and I find, without this enclosure, I wake up in the morning to pillows outside of their cases. Depending on the type of pillow you are using, this can make keeping your pillow clean a bit more difficult.

As you can see above, all of the fitted sheets accommodate a mattress depth of 16 inches. Standard mattresses normally have a depth of 8″-12″ in height, meaning the Nectar sheets should accommodate most beds. As an added bonus, the sheets come with a tag that reads “foot of the bed” to save you the trouble of putting the fitted sheet on the wrong way and having to start over.
How much do Nectar's bed sheets cost?

Is Nectar's Sateen Sheet Collection right for you?
Nectar is a brand that consistently provides exceptional value for dollar spent. Though there are certainly less expensive bed sheets available to consumers, we feel that the Nectar Sateen Sheets will make for a great long-term investment. These sheets are not going to fall apart the first time you wash them. In fact, as previously stated, these sheets are going to soften over time, providing a more luxurious feel. After months of use, the Nectar sheets have shown no signs of pilling, or fraying and continue to look like the first day we opened them up. We think these sheets will be a good fit for anyone wanting a luxuriously soft sleep experience with the ability to provide year-round comfort.
