Firmness & Feel
The Molecule CopperWELL mattress is made entirely from memory foam and polyfoam. Designed for athletes and active individuals, the Molecule CopperWELL offers lush contouring to ease aches and pains and aid performance recovery.
On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the firmest, we rated the Molecule CopperWELL mattress a 6-6.5, or medium to medium-firm. The CopperWELL by Molecule includes zoned construction which benefits a wide range of sleep positions, as we will see below.

Body Type & Sleep Position
Side Sleeper
The Molecule CopperWELL mattress is an exceptional choice for side sleepers. We experienced nice support through the lumbar due to its overall medium to medium firmness feel. We also experienced excellent pressure relief through the shoulders and hips. In fact, this has been one of our favorite mattresses for pressure relief!
The memory foam worked to contour and cradle our most sensitive pressure points. This led to the elimination of sleep-related hip and shoulder pain. We also didn’t suffer from paresthesia, more commonly known as a feeling of pins and needles. While quite a few things can contribute to this sensation, if occurring during the night, it could be due to a mattress lacking adequate pressure relief.

Back Sleeper
One of the things we love most about the Molecule CopperWELL mattress is its versatility. Not only is it an excellent choice for side sleepers, we think back sleepers are going to love this mattress as well. The Molecule CopperWELL mattress blends support and comfort seamlessly, appealing to a large audience.
Back sleepers are best served by a medium to medium-firm mattress that provides plenty of support for the lumbar but enough cushioning to alleviate strain on the lower back. The Molecule CopperWELL mattress delivers this balance, combining plush memory foam with a zoned mattress design. We felt our hips sinking gently into the memory foam comfort layer, providing excellent relief from pressure through our lower back.
Stomach Sleeper
Generally, if a mattress works well for side sleepers, it’s not a great choice for stomach sleepers. Of all sleep positions, stomach sleepers require the most support and are best served by a firm mattress. While the Molecule CopperWELL mattress isn’t an ideal solution for stomach sleepers, it could work for stomach sleepers who also enjoy spending some time on their sides or for couples who prefer sleeping in different sleep positions.
Mattress Performance
Cooling
Temperature regulation plays a vital role in sound sleep. Finding your ideal sleep temperature can significantly improve your ability not only to fall asleep but stay asleep as well.
The conforming, contouring nature of memory foam mattresses tends to lead to heat retention. However, the Molecule CopperWELL uses copper and gel-infused foams to combat heat build-up and help hot sleepers sleep cool. The top layer is made with open-cell memory foam, which improves breathability and transfers heat away from the body.
We felt the Molecule CopperWELL slept temperature-neutral rather than cool. If you’re a hot sleeper, we’d suggest looking at our top picks for best cooling. The Molecule CopperWELL hybrid is also worth considering as hybrid mattresses tend to sleep cooler than memory foam.
Edge Support
Good edge support allows sleepers to utilize the entire surface of the mattress. This is especially important for couples sharing a smaller mattress, such as a full or queen-size bed. Edge support may also be an essential consideration for seniors or individuals with disabilities who may rely on good edge support when getting into and out of bed.
While memory foam mattresses tend to lack good edge support, the Molecule CopperWELL mattress demonstrates above-average edge support. We did notice some compression when sitting on the edge of the bed, as well as when lying near the edge. However, we did not feel like we would fall out of the bed when on the edge. We think couples should be pretty pleased with the CopperWELL by Molecule.

Motion Isolation
Like edge support, motion isolation is another critical metric for couples. The better a mattress is at isolating motion, the less likely you will experience sleep disturbances if you share your bed with a partner, child, or pet. The Molecule CopperWELL does an excellent job of dampening motion transfer.
Ease of Movement
Combination sleepers require good ease of movement to move from one sleep position to another. While memory foam mattresses tend to bog sleepers down, making movement difficult, the Molecule CopperWELL offers above-average ease of movement.
If you’re looking for a mattress that delivers the best movement, you may want to consider the Molecule CopperWELL hybrid. Hybrid mattresses tend to outperform memory foam in regards to this, but they do so at the sacrifice of good motion isolation. However, for sleepers looking for a mattress that provides both good ease of movement and sound motion isolation, the Molecule CopperWELL memory foam mattress is a worthy option!
Mattress Construction
The Molecule Copperwell is a memory foam mattress with a profile height of 12”.
