A Mattress Clinically Proven to Reduce Pain & Improve Sleep
How many times do you wake up with a stiff neck or sore back? Level sleep has come up with a patented design to help alleviate joint pain associated with poor support while sleeping. This bed-in-a-box mattress features 3 different zones of firmness that work together to provide the optimal support for your shoulder, lumbar and hip area. Along with the clinical trials and being backed by doctors, we were excited to put this mattress to the test in our Level Sleep mattress review.

Level Sleep TriSupport Foam Mattress Construction
Level Sleep is unique by using different foams to help support and allow pressure relief on the curves of our body.
- 4 Way Stretch Cover: The cover is a polyester blend that has a soft to the touch feel. It has a 4 way stretch to allow your body to move around the mattress without it bunching underneath you and to feel the comfort layers below.
- 3” of TriSupport Breathable Comfort Foam
- LEVELSoft Foam: This foam surrounds your shoulders and head area to relieve pressure.
- LEVELFirm Foam: This foam supports your lumbar region, which is typically associated with reducing back pain.
- LEVELMedium Foam: Finally, this foam lays under your hips and legs providing just enough support to keep your back in alignment.
- 7” High Resilience Base foam: The High Density foam provides a solid sleep surface and is strong enough to last with their forever warranty.
10 years in the making
The Level Sleep mattress is the first one we have tested with 10 years of development including clinical trials. Their research showed a 55.5% reduction in time needed to fall asleep, a 34.5% reduction in tossing and turning, and a 57.1% reduction in pain. If you have serious pain everyday it is best to go to the doctors to get it checked out. That being said, even after seeing numerous doctors, you still might not have an answer or relief. That’s where Level Sleep can come in. We spend 1/3 of our life in bed, so spending that time on a great supportive mattress is important.
Level Sleep mattresses are 100% made in the U.S.A. Not only are their products made in the U.S.A., but they also use foam that is certified safe by CertiPUR-US. With the very low V.O.C. rating, you can rest assured that when this mattress comes into your home, there will be no dangerous toxins spilling into the air that could cause cancer.
Level Sleep's Supportive Memory Foam Feel
Level’s unique design provides excellent lumbar support allowing an even distribution of pressure through the pelvic, lumbar and thoracic areas. The lumbar support also reduced spinal compression, in turn, significantly reducing tossing and turning, allowing us to wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day.
It’s easy to get caught up in wanting a soft, plush mattress but it can be difficult to get the support you need if your mattress is too soft. This can cause a hammock-like sensation due to insufficient lumbar support, which in turn, can cause lower back pain. What we found with Level was a mattress that was firm but in all the right places, the shoulders had enough support but with that gentle relief those side sleepers need to sink into the mattress. The lower back in cradled by the firm layer across the center that can be an odd sensation at first but quickly becomes your favorite aspect, after one or two nights we praised this design choice and came out better for it.
Level Sleep Firmness
Level is designed to feature the LEVELsoft foam underneath the head and shoulders, with the LEVELfirm foam supporting the lumbar and the LEVELmedium foam beneath the hips and legs. However, should you find the enhanced lumbar support to be too much you can rotate the mattress 180 degrees. In doing so you will find a hidden soft zone that will allow a reduction in the lumbar support. Level does suggest attempting the enhanced lumbar support as your body adjusts.
That being said it is hard to rate Level with a one-size-fits-all approach. Due to its unique design we think it worth breaking up the firmness ratings as follows:
- Head & Shoulders: 5.5
- Torso/Lumbar: 8
- Hips & Legs: 6.5
Its patented TriSupport feature makes it an excellent choice for back and stomach sleepers who find themselves needing a firmer mattress to prevent pelvic sagging and back pain. At the same time, Level Sleep could be a good choice for side sleepers due to its LEVELsoft foam which alleviates shoulder pressure, a common problem for side sleepers.
Is Level Sleep A Good Choice For Couples?
We experienced very little motion transfer, making it a great choice for couples. Not only did we feel that motion transfer was fairly unnoticeable with Level Sleep, but tossing and turning was at a minimum allowing us a great night’s sleep.
Level Sleep Edge Support
We normally sleep on a California King, so when testing out a bed, anything smaller can be quite noticeable, especially if edge support is lacking. However, we felt that Level performed very well in this category. Better edge support means you will feel comfortable using a larger surface of the bed before feeling like you will fall out, this can be especially important when sharing a smaller bed with a partner.
Level Sleep Purchase Details

Most of the reviews on Level Sleep boasted about having the best night sleep and finally getting pain relief. Although most people loved this mattress, we all have different body types and bed preferences. For those who didn’t like the mattress, they seemed to have a good experience with customer service.
Level Mattress Review Conclusion
We recommend the Level Sleep mattress if:
- You suffer from back pain and need ample support in the lumbar region. The TriSupport Foam construction provides plenty of support while alleviating pressure in the hips and shoulders.
- You are a stomach or back sleeper.
- You want a firm mattress and prefer to sleep “on” the mattress.
Level Sleep might not be the right fit if:
- You are a strict side sleeper – this mattress may be a bit too firm for you
- You like feel the mattress hugging/contouring to your body.
