Firmness & Feel
The 5 Little Monkeys mattress has a medium feel. Thanks to the comfort layer, it has a nice plush surface feel, while the transition layer offers good support for optimal spinal health.
The bed has surprisingly good edge support, which means your toddler is less likely to fall out of bed if they roll towards the edges. Beds with good edge support feel larger than beds with poor edge support; this may be especially helpful if you spend any time sleeping next to your little one.

Off-Gassing
Another benefit of CertiPUR-US certified foams is low VOC emissions and minimal off-gassing. We did not notice any off-gassing when unboxing the 5 Little Monkeys mattress. That being said, we have read through a few reviews that indicate some customers have experienced a faint foam smell.
